Book Review: How To Go On Living When Someone You Love Dies by Therese A. Rando
Mourning the death of a loved one is a process all of us will go through at one time or another. But wherever the death is sudden or anticipated, few of us are prepared for it or for the grief it brings. There is no right or wrong way to grieve; each person’s response to loss will be different. Now, in this compassionate, comprehensive guide, Therese A. Rando, Ph.D., bereavement specialist leads you gently through the painful, but necessary process of grieving and helps you find the best way for yourself.
This is one of the best books about grief that I have ever read. Therese Rando has an incredible amount of knowledge about grief and the affects of grief and she shares her knowledge in a very understandable format. This book is intended for those who are newly bereaved or have been bereaved for some time. The book is broken down into chapters that cover very specific topics about grief and loss. I was particularly interested in the chapter that covered Sudden death versus Anticipatory death because I had not seen that level of detail in other grief books. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is bereaved or working with the bereaved.
