Celebrating volunteerism
In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Bereaved Families of Ontario – Midwestern Region (BFO-MR) was proud to participate in a celebration of volunteerism at The Family Centre on Thursday April 14, 2016.
The event was held as a collaborative effort between six community hub agency members:
AFRO, Bereaved Families of Ontario – Midwestern Region, Facile Waterloo Region, Muslim Social Services, Planned Lifetime Networks and Waterloo Region Family Network.
Each agency invited a speaker to share a story about how a volunteer from their organization had an impact on their life. Brigette, a Cambridge Living with Loss facilitator shared her experience of learning and growing through her grief, and how that journey brought her back to BFO-MR to help others heal.
The drop-in featured refreshments and a rousing performance by The Buddy Choir.
